So I realized after dropping my deposit from yesterday that I am more than just a blackjack degen. I dropped $444 between yesterday and today playing way too high ($2/$4 heads up limit, $1/$2 heads up no-limit, plus a few sick beats at $25NL). I looked over my stats, and realize that if I stay at one low limit I will be okay.
So what I am looking for is someone who is playing more or less the same levels as I am, or the same amount of hands. Somebody who I could discuss hands with, chat to on AIM or MSN, stuff like that). I'd also throw out there that if anyone sees me playing any game besides $.25/$.5 LHE or $10 NLHE and posts it up in here I will ship them $10 (FTP name is the same as my name here).
Thanks

lol pretty much everyone who posted in your one thread said follow BR management and you did not.
You can be a gambler or you can be a poker player. It is up to you.
good luck though.

Yeah, they did. I'm glad that I went thru this though. Now I'm buckling down to actually be a winner. Guess you really have to learn for yourself. Moving on...

My suggestion would be to start a thread in the Operations forum with the point of listing every session of poker you play from now on and what portion of your online bankroll you are playing with in each session so that you can be held accountable (a.k.a. bitched at and made fun of continuously) if you don't adhere to responsible bankroll management.
As an aside, I would suggest picking one game and sticking with it until you are profitable and specialize in that game before you start branching out.
Good luck.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

start an op. Post results of every session played for a while - including stakes, number of tables, and any observations. Figures that you now understand the benefits of careful bankroll management guidelines even more than before!

It would seem beneficial to OP to note the following thread in which an FTR member was made fun of continuously for not following the bankroll management advice that was suggested: http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...ly-t74766.html

Yes such a shame I was growing quite attached to that thread. Anyway back to the topic. Good luck sir I look forward to tracking your journey. My bankroll is zero at the moment ahem... But I should be back in funds by Tuesday evening, I'd be more than happy to team up with you I could do with some accountability myself.

Yeah, it's funny about BR managment. I am a live bankroll nut. I didn't start playing $2/$5 until I'd made $20k total (I spend a good deal of my profit on living n going out). But for some reason I was not thinking of my bankroll as a roll, it was just an amount of money. That's somehting I need to work on. Thinking in terms of BB rather than $.
If you catch me you get paid! plus I'll save money. So yeah, look out for me.

Just admitting around FTR that you're a bonehead goes a long way to curbing one's gamboooool-need. I speak from experience.

no, i am not quiting renton. Actually Slevin has been a huge help. I talked to him thru my last session and it helped. I am up 114 BB in my last 2.3 hr session. I also have made myself a little sign reminding me that I do not play anythign but $.25/$.5 LHE, no more than 5 tables, and a $30 stop loss. Helps greatly. Am going to become a winner no matter what! Check out my op thread "I WIll Win"

I wish you the best of luck, but for the love of your bankroll be careful who you get advice from.

Just a few observations you might find useful. I don't want to dog slevin here, but you need to know a few things. I don't doubt he would be a good person to talk to about setting goals, or having determination, because he has plenty of both. However, slevin is terribly misguided with how to become a winner at poker, and doesn't take criticism well, nor listen to others before him. And you can have all the determination, persistence, or whatever you want to call it, but if you fail to listen to players that know what they are talking about, and fail to put their advice to good use, then your journey to becoming a consistent winning player is going to be a rough one indeed. Because of this I would be weary talking strategy etc with him until he has proven himself a winner also. No offense but you don't really want to learn poker from a currently losing player, amirite?
Most individuals on this forum don't mind helping others, and that's why they are here. However, all the players worth listening to have put in their fair share of hard work to learn the game and become a winner, and no one wants to hold the hand of another player during their learning process. And this is where a good majority of the losing/breakeven players on FTR and other sites falter. You must be willing to put in the work, study the things you are told to study, read the articles you are told to read, and listen, or you will become just another breakeven player that is stuck.
Whether any of the above really applies to you or not, so be it. Just felt like saying it for anyone reading that wonders why they aren't making their way through the stakes, yet don't want to put in the hard work needed.

This is a really good suggestion. Also having an operations thread is also a good idea.

Well yes I could - but with hindsight it's lock probabally came at a good time, it was no longer serving its design, it was draining my poker development as oppose to cultivating it. M3rdport3 is a sound guy he'll be moving on up in no time, as for our conversations - I'm sure there will be many more fruitful ones to come

In my opinion, this is a more fitting screen name.
