Ok here is my problem with party poker i think im a solid poker player but i cant seem to keep last in sng's. My play style is very very tight in the beginning of the tourney like i only play the top top hands and will only limp in with smaller pairs from mid to late position.Ok let me get to my problem which is im always struggling to stay alive late in the tourney. The type of tournies i play range from 5$-20$ single table sng's.If i dont get a big hand and double up early im pretty much screwed the rest of the tourny cause i get out blinded because of party poker's 800 chip start and the blinds going up every 10 hands.Is it me or is it party poker cause i dont have any problems playing on poker stars which starts out with 1500 chips and paradise poker which starts out with 1000 chips.Does anyone have this problem also who's strategy is based on playing very tight to build a nice chip stack and let the other non skilled players knock each other out and then when u have the chip power and the table is very low on players u can start playing a little looser to put pressure on the smaller stacks.

I highly recommend Harrington on Hold'em Volume 2. The book tells very much about playing shortstacked (with very interesting examples).
In a nutshell: as your stack gets smaller (in relation to the blinds) you have to be more and more aggressive. As shortstack your drawing hands like suited connectors go down in value, and hands like AK, AQ and so on move up.
You even have to take care, that your stack isn't getting so small, so you can't get people off the hand when you push your chips all in. You simply cant' wait to make a big hand - it wouldnt help you to double up from 200 to 400 if the blinds at 50/100, cause youre also very shortstackt with 400.
Find a spot where you push your chips all in. Here some things you have to look for:
- be the first who pushs!
- dont mess with a compareable stack
- make your move against a medium to big stack at the blinds (not too big)
- don't try this against very aggressive players
- have some kind of a hand (even QJoff as shortstack)
I hope this post can give you some thoughts. Any other comments to my posting would be highly appreciated.

camping at 10-15 and 15-30 is ok, but 25-50 is time to start doing something.
also, a cold fact about Party sngs is the variance can suck from time to time, but if you're a solid player who knows when to pick a spot, you'll make money.

The Party SNG's aren't really worth it;I recommend Pokerstars and other sites in between that allow you to start with more then say 800 chips.

the plus side to this is a solid player can dominate the weak-tights who will camp for AA right down to 2-3 bb/stacks

The problem is that at the lower levels there are more FISH than weak-tights. Fish DON'T suffer from this structure. In fact they'll call your pushes with K40... when you have T9s
It wasn't CORRECT for him to call because you could have had a better hand. But because a fish is so loose he's costing BOTH YOU AND HIM money by calling here. Since one of you won't make it ITM if your stacks are very close.
Also, the weak-tights can be saved for later when the blinds are big.

That 800 starting chips really hurts when you play tight. Happened to me too. I did fairly well when I played loose, but when I played tight my success was directly tied to me getting a monsters and hoping somebody called on those occassions. Play on the sites with higher starting chips. I think your variance will be much lower on those.

I think I second this, your folding equity goes way down at lower level SnGs because there is so many calling station fishey wisheys. 'Oh look I have a King, the second best card, Kings can win, call...' When you have 4x bb and two calling stations on your left it turns into a bit of a need cards situation.

if they are calling stations, then simply get a hand and double up. Otherwise, i'm stealing blinds all day against tight players
