A9o against very LAG (OOP)

Easy fold pre. MP's open range is likely stronger than our hand here. We're also going to be OOP with a very marginal hand vs 2 villains, which would probably lead us to making many poor decisions.

Stats/reads on pfr?

Think I prob just fold this pre, but I'd consider 3betting based on pfr's stats.

As played, think I'm calling this shove. This looks very bluffy to me. I don't see why he's not getting more in on flop and turn if he wants to get his stack in, so unless he binked the 2, or 55 perhaps, I think we're good.

dont like calling pre. as played i think we have to call him down on the river with this board runout

Pre-flop it would have been an easy fold but I get in at a discount. Yeah I have a marginal hand but I had been outplaying MP all night post-flop and the button was playing almost any 2 cards in LP.

Discount or not you've still decided to play an easily dominated hand oop vs 2.
By posting this hand you were asking for some advice and got answers from some decent players, but I'll throw in my $0.02.
You want the actions that you take on each street to try to make your decisions easier on later streets. Oop is BADBADBAD, so pf either 3b or fold. Yeah, you said that you think that you can outplay MP but that's a lot easier ip.
Won't even address the rest because imo we shouldn't have been in the hand to begin with.

The call preflop is very bad.

We're out of position with a hand that has reverse implied odds (win a small pot or lose a big pot) and is hard to play postflop. This isn't the same as if he opened on the button and it's just you left to act.

So if you've been outplaying MP all night, why no MP reads? I'm not trying to be an arse, it's just that you'll get much better advice if we know how often MP is opening from MP, how often he folds to 3bet, and how often he folds to flop cbet. If all tallies up nicely, 3bet > fold, but much depends on those reads.

tbh it seems your focus pre flop is too much on the button donk and not enough on the person who raised.

I don't have any tracking software, the info I put here is from memory as it's usually up a few hours after I have played the hand.

I apologize for lack of info on MP, I didn't realize it was as important as he folded on the flop. As in the hand, if he missed flop or even had a draw he was folding 100% of the time to a bet on the flop.

Are there many loose players on this forum or is it all stick to the book poker?

You'll find that I'm prolly one of the loosest players on this forum. My stats over the last 50k or so--32/24 with 8.5 3bet @ ~2.4 bb/100, mostly on 25nl. If you want to learn the lag style then you've got to learn 5 things:
Position
Position
Position
Exploiting tendencies
Post flop play

But if you're just starting to really study the game then I strongly recommend ABC poker for several hundred k hands to build a solid foundation.

I don't think it's right to try and play a particular style, it's better to try and adjust to the villains as best you can. If the table is generally tight and passive, I'll try to play loose and aggressive.

There are times when I'd make this call, but I like to know that both villains are capable of spewing with air, or that they are incapable of folding top pair when we cooler them. If we think we at least double up when we hit 2pr+, then sure, 4c is a fine investment for this possibility, but that's where we need reads on both these guys. How likely is it you double up? How easily are you getting away from 9xx and Axx flops?

Check out poker tracker and hold'em manager, pt3 offer a free trial and hem prob do too, tracking software allows to you identify, profile and adjust better to different villains, it's an invaluable tool.

Fair enough. Note taking is your next best weapon then. Bet sizing, hand selection, likes to limp, can't fold top pair etc, anything that can help you play future hands against him better.

If you don't know enough about both villains in the pot, then folding pre is by far the best option here.

I do take a lot of notes, but to be honest, I am not sure what exactly I should be taking note of.

If I get to a showdown, I will replay the hand and then make notes on the hand itself, what he had, his raise size, did he 3 bet, did he c bet etc etc.
