If your on BB you would play A2(or any really weak kicker) like KK on Axx board right? Check and look for second pair or bluff to bet on turn/river? Fold to a Big Bet or any real bet on the flop. Or is this way off?

alright, im pretty sure i would just c/c the whole way depending on bet sizes, but for both our sakes, lets try some abcd theorem exercises!

Assuming our kicker isnt on the board, our hand is definitely not in our A range as we cant really stand a reraise with it, nor is it in the D range as we actually have something on the flop and have to think about calling or raising a bet. That leaves the B or C range. I dont think it really belongs in the C range, as pairing either hole card leaves much to be desiered if we were facing alot of aggression on this board. Then, i think it correctly fits into our B range since we have some equity vs other aces, pp's that missed a set, cbets, and MPTK kinda hands.

Im a noob at this, but i think this is the right way to think about the "standard" way to play it in the absence of reads etc.

I'm c/c all the way as well. Here's a hypothetical however
Flop:
AKx rainbow. c/f to any reasonably sized bet.
turn
Q-still rainbow. - here, c/c but if it's all checks and the river is a blank, do we V-bet here?

I believe this is a typical way ahead/way behind situation. If say you have A2 in the bb on an A95r board. If you bet you fold alot of hands you beat, but get called by alot of hands you are behind to. If he has a higher Ace you are looking to probably only 3 outs (more if you have backdoors etc.). So check/call.

However, I would say it depends on alot of things. The more people in the pot the more likely you should just c/f, since a bet in a 3-4 way pot is generally stronger than in a HU pot as it's harder to bluff etc. Also if you have reads that the guy will call with alot less than Top Pair, and it's HU then I wouldn't hate putting in a bet. Also if you know he won't bet without you beat, then I don't hate a fold.

If we have A2 we should probably find reasons to fold, not reasons to call.
Just playing to improve.
