1. I’m a skeptical guy, as you’ve noticed. I think many people buy programs like PokerTracker for the wrong reasons; they think it is a magic talisman that will make them into great players. It is like using a stick shift on your car. Some good drivers like the extra controls, for others it does nothing or makes them worse. But flat out telling people not to use them is annoying.
2. This article makes no sense to me. First you tell people they must be DISCIPLINED and play by the rules, then you tell them they have to work by their wits. I find this disingenuous You build up someone’s confidence, then distort it by making them unlearn everything you just drilled into them.
3. In real life, I spent several years as a full-time freelance writer, selling dozens of articles to magazines and commercial Web sites. As such, I have a low opinion of ghostwriters. If Lou Krieger needs you to write for him, then my respect for the guy is gone. I’ll unload my set of his work at the nearest used bookstore. He’s been rewriting the same book repeatedly for years anyway.
4. If I may make a personal note, AOK, I have nothing against you. I don’t know you. You’re just words on a screen. Nevertheless, you seem to be the type that doesn’t take criticism well. You complain that other people are insulting you, yet you insist on reading into other people’s intentions. These issues transcend the subject matter of this gaming forum, but you might want to look into them.

How To Create Your Own Winning Game, the quick version.

Latch onto a better player, run hot.

The long version.

Play more hands than everyone else. Not 10k, not 100k, play until you burn out so completely you never want to hear poker, take a day off and repeat.

Ilikeaces86 and gabe were not winning players when they started. Both developed styles of play that seem black and white in comparrison. Both got to their level by playing so much poker it'll make your head spin, reviewing hands and asking for advice.

Michael1123 went busto a few times before now being rich as a white man can be.

Poker just takes time. There is no system to cracking it. There is no one lesson that when told will immediately trigger a chemical reaction in your brain and flip the switch from losing player to winning player.

You need to invest the time yourself, see what wins, see how opponents react to certain plays, go busto a few times yourself before you can really reach the pinnicle of this game.

Some people will say that a system is a good starting point but you should immidiatly be looking for ways to change and improve the system.

Smithers, use the amnesia ray.
You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.

I like the assighnment and the idea behind it. Great idea. When i used to hand write hand histories and thoughts when I played in a journal I was making many more correct decisions. My feel for the game was better. Then i stopped doing it? HMMM. That was a good decision, huh?
