I have been playing 9 seat tables NL, and not doing too bad. I have been toying with multi-table play recently, but find it very hard to find 9 seat tables with the characteristics I am looking for. I play very TAG, Aokrongly is my chosen role model for NL. Does anyone know if using the same tactics will be +EV at a 6-Max table? If not, how much of a change to my strat would I have to make to play 6-Max profitably.

I read somewhere that a nice way to play 6-max is to see it as a full 9 player game, where the first 4 players (UTG - UTG+3) have already folded. So the worst position you can be in is UTG+4 or early middle.
And then adjust your starting hand requirements to suit.
You still need to play tight aggressive, but mediocre hands like... say... KJ go up in value due to the decreased likelihood of you facing a pocket ace.

In 6 max the value of all hands go up, and the rotating blinds mean you will be forced to be more active (if you plan on making a profit) and you will be playing a lot of marginal hands. If you're a tight player then stay at a full table, but 6 max is a great learning experience if you haven't tried it and will teach you to play position more so than your own cards.
