Wasn't sure about the flop, so checked behind, but after he checked the turn i tried to pick up the pot, but since he called and another overcard to my 7's came I decided to check behind again hoping for a cheap showdown. Villain is 71/57/80 over 7 hands.

stop posting your results so we can review the hand! lol... when you post the results it totaly kills the action.

ofcourse it's safe to assume on the flop nobody has a 2. you already have a FH and I think betting and just taking the pot here is ok since the only hands you have to worry about are PP that are larger then yours but if you check to the turn then you have to worry about any overs to your 7's. chances are any A high will call this flop. so when he calls you can pretty much narrow his range right down to PP/Ax

Value betting the flop is fine as long as your opponet isn't super aggro and might shove A high on this flop.

I actually want to be against a opponent that shoves ace high in this spot. So long as i know he shoves ace high in this spot.

Who wouldn't? But is 7 hands enough to know he isn't calling our raise preflop and be check-shoving a monster?

of course he may be doing just that but that's where reads come in. I'm playing right now but later i will post the ev of getting it all in if we say villain gets all in with any ace in this hand.

How do we have any reads if we've only played 7 hands with him? How do you have any idea what his all-in range is? I'm pretty sure it's tighter than any ace.

When i made my original in was in response to when said you don't want to raise versus a player who shoves ace high. Perhaps i misunderstood what you meant.

Anyway the hand in the op is a bet whether villain calls or raises with ace high.

If villain is actually bad enough to shove with Any ace or better our ev is +.72 Even if we say he is only shoving with with big aces it's still +ev to get it all in.
