First orbit at the table. If this were a tourny Id be somewhat confident about being good, but whats a typically range for villian given the action? Betsizing too small? (btw - villian has 10 cents behind...)

Poker Stars $0.10/$0.25 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players
MP: $15.90
CO: $59.40
BTN: $5.80
SB: $39.85
Hero (BB): $25.00
UTG: $15.40

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is BB with A Q
UTG raises to $0.75, MP calls $0.75, CO calls $0.75, 2 folds, Hero raises to $3, 1 fold, MP calls $2.25, CO calls $2.25

Flop: ($9.85) A 7 3 (3 players)
Hero bets $6.40, MP raises to $12.80, CO folds, Hero ...

EZ call. If you're not calling this raise then don't make your flop bet.

Pre size probably doesn't matter a whole lot. I'd raise one 3bb raise to $3 OOP, so after 2 limpers I'd make it at least $4. I don't really want to take AQo multi-way in bloated pot OOP so I would just call pre. It's weak, but then you're risking 2bb vs players who likely play straight up post, instead of trying to play OOP when you miss 60% and don't know the table dynamic.

I don't think you're a nit for considering it, you're probably losing >50% here but you don't need to be good that often with this kind of pot anymore, so you have to call..

i don't mind 3betting here to thin the field.... depending on your read of UTG raiser. but i think flatting here 50% with AQ is fine too. AKsoooted probably 3 bet 90% of the time in this situation with 3 already in when it gets to us.

with only 1 opener in the pot...

i think you have to vary your 3bet range from the blinds. i think auto 3 betting AK AQ from blinds is to predictable. your OOP and flopping something 1/2 the time (pair or flush draw, or gut shot etc.)

my point is that i thought i had to auto 3 bet AK from the blinds for a while. and i see other regulars doing this as well. its to predictable.

he'll continue to be the type of poker player we all love, the one that isn't any good but thinks he is, and slowly donates to the regulars.
