I was recently in a small speed tournment. 10 Hands at my table. I am BB. I get Q4u and check. We are 4 left. The flop comes: QQQ !!!!
How would you act?

When we talk about the nut, we could see KK or AA on the last cards. That in combination with a player sitting with AA or KK would be the nut, right?

a lot of times you can play it like you would any other hand (a pocket pair or whatever), some times you might slowplay it a bit. depends on a lot of things like who you're playing and position and what the blinds are, etc.

on the flop, you have the nuts. the nuts is the best possible hand at the time. on the river, aaaa could possibly be the nuts, but it doesn't exist yet, you still have the nuts for now.

the turn and river actually could bring many cards which would make you lose, there are lots of different runner runner straight flushes that could beat you, that is if you lived in hell.

oh and 4 is a horrible kicker but there is no situation where it could come into play after that flop.

one tip. let's say you had q4 and the flop+turn came kkkk. don't go all-in! you do not have the nuts. that might seem obvious, i've just seen a few people do things like that thinking "dur i have quads we all tie" then they get stacked.

I think you should bet half the pot or something like that. It's not out of the question ace high will call that and a pocket pair will for sure.

Kicker doesn't really come into play here.. there are no more queens in the deck so it can never become a kicker-war.

With 4 people left and you in early position I would slowplay this hand unless the table is very tight. In a speed tournament you dont have too much time to make moves, so someone would try to take a stab at the pot. If the flop is checked I would bet 1/2 pot on the turn

Nice one! Played it as well as possible I think and, fortunately, they all fancied a stab at it on the river.

I had the same situation recently with Kings and played it almost exactly the same. I only had one person still in at the river and didn't collect nearly as much as you.
