Villain is a reg, got a bit of history from 10NL with him. Preflop stats are 19/9 3.5%3bet. Positional AF is 3/1/1, check raises 10% on the flop. I think I'm way behind most of his range here so this may be totally standard but comments would be appreciated.

hard to lay down aces, but if there's a horrible draw/villain/position for rockets, this is it...

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

A bet/fold seems like the obvious play here because we're looking at a really shitty flop. We could be looking at JJ, TT, KJ, JT, AQ, Q9, KT... all of which crush our hand and all are hands that the average joe cold-calls raises with. We also could up against smaller PPs or SCs so I don't ever see myself ever not betting this flop. But I'm willing to give it up pretty quick if raised (and even quicker if check/raised).

I don't think so. By checking, we can peel a turn card off cheaper than being raised and by some miracle we may get a free card given the texture of the flop (for those who fear a C/R with us holding AQ). Still though, if we turn a non-spade Q, we may only be chopping with another Ax hand. I just don't think we're ahead enough times here to put a ton of money in past the flop so C/C or B/F... I could really go either way.
