25nl 6m top two facing turn C/R

this one is probably standard but there has been no traffic here lately so i thought i'd post some hands up from my review. any poker discussion > no poker discussion imo.

so villain is R_o_B_B_e_r_t_o_W (without the _'s). he runs 27/20/5 with a 54% ATS over my 330ish sample. folds to 85% of cbets, and has donked 2/10 opportunities. notes say

- donk 88 on 643t HU from SB vs LP
- flats A8s+ and small pairs OSB vs steal

i'm 32/29ish over my last 10k hands and my stats at this table at the time of the hand indicate i would probably look pretty aggro on his hud.

pre isn't standard. BB is a 77/15 who i wanna play with. flop i raise because i have reads that he is donking a reasonably strong range and i suspect he will call a flop raise vs a perceived aggro reg with more of it than just the 5 combos which beat me. turn plan was to bet enough to setup a river shove yet little enough for him to feel "exploited" (or something) folding any AJ type hands. when he jams i need something like 28%. if he does this with like 3 combos of AJ or other hands i beat then i have to call. did i fuck up anywhere with my line or sizing? anyone play any street differently?

think it's overly optimistic to think he's jamming some kind of combo draw since the range you're repping is absurdly strong.

he lead into a massive fish and the UTG PFR which removes a lot of bluffs from his range. when your raise the flop into this range your range is really strong so your range is weighted towards QQ+ or like air.

so if hes not braindead c/shoving AJ would be really terrible on his part

@bolded, i think not taking this into account was the biggest gap in my thought process in this hand. thanks for pointing that out.

edit: so the flop raise is too thin? as played B/F or check back Tu?

I fold J9o from UTG pre-flop. It's an OS1G, with OK flop potential. I'd play it from later positions, if the pre-flop action wasn't too aggro.

After that, I play it the same. Villains running 77/15 overvalue TPTK and tend to raise/shove overpairs on the flop.

@bikes: What range do you put Villain on when you bet/fold the turn?

Even though I get we want to play pots with the fish J9o UTG seems bad, too many players to get through. We have position vs the fish most of the time so I'd just fold pre.

??? This is a cash game. We take ANY +eV opportunity we can get. It's not like we gain edge by making close folds etc.

Even if this is true, the BB is not the only opponent at this table, and BB has yet to act. This is the only position where Hero acts before BB pre-flop. I am not convinced that "opening light" is +EV here.

i don't know how anyone can comment on how good or bad preflop is without knowing who else is sitting at the table. fwiw, i'd open this all day unless i had one or two serial 3bettors between me and the button.

i think a lot of people can infer that there isn't anyone aggressive behind you because you did open. given that and the whale you mentioned in the op pre looks good
