Thought this was best place to go as i am a beginner totally
I'm a tight player, mainly better on strong scs, pp, AK, AA, QQ, JJ.

Basically im tending to play hands where you just have totally suicidal players, for example one hand i had AKs, i bet $2.50 (o.10/o.25). Opponent pushes all in ($7), he's been aggressive all game betting stupid hands. I call him thinking he's got crap all... and it turns out he does Q3 off suite... then on flop comes 2 3's...

and this is just one example, constantly getting lucked out of hands because people will bet anything because stakes are low and i dont have the experience (or cash for that matter to play in higher stake games).

Also, while i make this post, any advise for a guy who doesnt want to make a bucket load of cash but does want to make some sort of amount rather than losing it on hands of luck.

Hi dmg7. Welcome to FTR. Have you read rilla's bankroll management guide? It can be found here along with a lot of other great articles. You shouldn't be playing 25NL without a poker bankroll of ~$500. That doesn't all have to be in your account at once, but that should be the amount you're willing to lose. Having a nice cushion will make it very, very difficult to go broke, even if you keep getting unlucky. That being said, the situation you described is exactly what you want in poker! You were over a 2:1 favorite. If you keep getting into that situation, you're going to win A LOT of money. Still, everytime it happens, there's a 30% chance you'll lose, hence the need to have a bankroll cushion. If you're really new to online poker, I'd recommend starting at 10NL and beating that for awhile before you move up.

Best of luck.

Right, $10 max buy-in. I can't recommend any sites, but I'm sure others can. I've heard PokerRoom is great though.

dmg,

keep pushing those favored hands, you will have you fair share of beats...like the one you suffered here, but will make so much more in the long run. the percentages dont lie.

get it in with the favored hand, and laugh when it doesnt hold because you know that guy will stick around long enough to lose it back, preferrably to you.

and you can only laugh when you play at stakes that you are properly bankrolled for. if it were my last $100, i would not be laughing at that hand, but if i had $2500 in my roll, and that happened at a $100 table, i would be able to comfortably chuckle at the idiot...AND RELOAD, BABY!!

EDIT: and dont say you are sorry when you give someone a beat after they are the clear favorite. as far as i am concerned, you have one coming to you...to even the score...
LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.

Nothing beats flopping quads while dropping a duece!
