Villian is a 48 | 18 and had chased me off of AA earlier with a river shove. After that he tried it again but I held onto TPTK and took all his money. This enraged him and it was verbal spew for the next hour. I badly wanted to trap him as did everyone else at the table. Is a shove reasonable in this spot?

Just because the villain is willing to shove AI on the river either as a bluff or with a marginal holding doesn't mean that he is going to be calling an overbet shove without something to back it up.

You want to try and get as much value from your trips as possible, but because your kicker is so weak, its possible that the villain has higher trips that you (albeit somewhat unlikely). You also have the possibility that the villain is drawing to a flush.

What range do you think he had on the turn?

If villain is willing to stack off in a min-raising battle with just top pair or an overpair in this spot, then by all means try and get it in when you can. But it seems likely that someone who likes to make big river bluffs, might also want to slowplay a strong hand when they get one.

On another note, FTR has its own hand converter (http://poker-tools.flopturnriver.com/Hand-Converter.php)

Personally I might just fold this preflop, but since you said he was an idiot and stacks off light call might be fine. The flop is definitely a raise here. You don't want anther diamond to come and this guy could very well have raise something like Axs or Kxs preflop. Plus since he is an agro spewtard he might just shove over your raise, with these hands or even some pocket pair. The turn minraise is awful. Seriously stop minraising it's like the worst thing you can possibly do in any situation. Things would have been so much easier if you would have raised the flop, and not minraised the turn. But, in this situation, and because he is probably on tilt or something, I shove and hope he doesn't have A7, K7, 33 or 88. I would so much rather get this all-in on the flop though...

yeah turn minraise is terrible, just make it $2-2.50. Thankfully villain gives you another chance to get the money in by min 4 betting, horray, just pop him to $4 and watch him shove. I also think a small flop raise is good too, an agro monkey like him will go crazy with all his air and never fold if he has a piece.

Pirate, 2 things. First, sc's play HORRIBLE oop. If you're trying to trap him w/ 75s, cold call from the BTN when he opens EP or MP, imo. Second, don't get too far from ABC TAGG poker, even when you're trying to "build a big pot." If you vary your typical approach every time you have a monster, you become readable - even to feeesh. This was a big problem for me - I would fall prey to FPS (fancy play syndrome) when I flopped a monster, and everyone knew something was up.

A c/r on the flop does simplify the hand, and remember that even if they all fold, it makes them think twice about cbetting air when you call. Even this donk ain't stacking off without SOME value. If he has some cards, the flop c/r will draw him in. If he doesn't, he'll fold. And you won't be screwing around allowing great reverse implied odds for him to stack you.

And think how much easier this would have been to play if you had position. :P

that doesnt sound very +EV. why not just play your regular game instead of feeling good when you "trap" him for less money?

^^^ Hero did not raise this PF.

Regarding the hand, agree w/ most that turn is silly. Make a man sized raise and look to get it in since you have LOLTARPED him.

I don't hate flop call given reads tho btw. Even with FD out there this is not that scary of a board.
