Now there's a winning strategy!

Nut peddling at 10NL can be profitable, but bad beats still happen! Sounds like you are being results oriented!
Hey knucklehead! Bonk!

Sorry was just frustrated. I'd say it's too easy to overplay hands trying to outplay people who won't fold. By doing this it is easy to blow a stack that is a true grind to build when the Big Blind is only 10c. But if there's anything I need to work on it is discipline, I can be too aggressive when it's not warranted, picking my spots better and controlling my aggression is what will get me back out of 10NL. Cool heads and calm thoughts are the go.

AAAKK,

do us a favor and post some HHs next time you start a thread to "blow off steam." or, at least some more depth in your thoughts.

otherwise, you are wasting your time, and ours.

some of us are starved for conversation right now, and your first post was begging for frustrated posters to flame you a bit.

Hence the response to the original reply rather than just ignoring it. I do normally post HH's and will make an effort to do so in the future, sorry for providing an opening.

gingerwizard is an unknown quantity at this point
play 6max, be aggressive, and watch the players. There are lots of calling stations at 10NL so it's right to nut pedal against them. There are also lots of tight/passives, spew merchants and the like. Picking your opponents is the key to making moves, and the beauty of 10NL is that your opponents are so easy to read. The only decent players are the ones trying to get out like you.
This is not my signature. I just write this at the bottom of every post.

Been playing at Party at the moment so no 6 max at 10NL, that's ok, patience is a virtue.

I'm down there too mate and been having a rough time lately at $10NL on party. Tables that won't give any action on my raises so I make lots of steal raises and am slowly building my stack when I get a big hand and come off second best... It is very frustrating I just hope if I keep trying to play well things will turn around. Good luck!
Must get more aggressive - Tonight we dine in $25NL! rah rah rah! etc

I think one of the problems against those players, is you start to think that since they bet on anything, you can beat them by betting on anything. Just because they play junk, doesnt mean the way to beat them is to play 2nd class hands hard.
Just playing to improve.

To continue this discussion....wondering what everyone thinks is a good bb/100 on 10NL. I'm at about 9 bb/100 which sounds pretty good if you at higher levels, but it doesn't feel that way to me. Because the play is so bad and so is the variance, I often feel like I'm not performing. Just trying benchmark myself so I can make some adjustments if there is addt'l opportunity.

i carry a 14 over 24k hands, but i think even that could be higher. but i have been slipping, too. i seem to be getting more passive...not calling raises with funky stuff, playing more in position, etc. and, believe it or not, that seems to be bringing down my rate...along with general variance.

its not that i am getting sucked out on more, its that i am not getting paid off as much...prolly because i havent been calling raises with funky stuff lately.

i think 10+ is sustainable, but i think 20 is still a bit out of reach. i just dont think variance will let you get that high.

Thanks for the feedback. I just double checked my PT filters, and found I'm actually almost 10 through 14k hands, but probably need a larger sample size to see where I end up. Granted, I also think 15 is attainable. I'll check back in another 10k hands and see if that continues to climb.
