Hello all, I'll soon be making one of those nifty introduction/operation posts in that section but I wanted to post my first 10k at 10$NL. After playing 5$NL for a while at a site without rakeback I decided to take some of that bankroll and start at a new site with a new bonus plus rakeback and do this properly. The long story short is I will soon have a lot of time, taking some time off work and I want to spend that free time doing this project. Right now I know I have leaks in my game, like for example seeing too many showdowns with a good hand when I know I'm beat. I do this far too much, it's stupid and it's costing me money and I'm working on it. But anyways, I am willing to put in the effort and time to get better. I'm reading some books and studying my HH after (almost) ever session. I know about bankroll management and I plan to be very disciplined about it. That about covers me without being overly boring. So, my stats:  Thoughts: *I limp too much. I need to raise my PFR% closer to my VP$IP. A lot closer. *My VP$IP is around the right place, I may get confident enough to raise it a bit later, perhaps when my post flop play is better. Positions stats:  *The 5/6 positions on the chart are from a few hundred hands I played early at full ring. *SB fail. I have to play less shit cards from there. *I have to tighten up from position 2, probably less cold calls would be good also. More on the small blind, I realize at this sample size this may be useless but here it is anyways:  And finally, teh graphz:  Wow swings. I know. This comes massively from what I think is my biggest problem right now. Convincing myself that my trips are good against the flush when I KNOW I'm beat, and yet still call. I realized I was doing this at around 5k hands and I was still doing it yesterday. I really need to stop. Good hands != the nuts. I need it tattooed on my forehead. The SB. I guess it's the typical noob mistake, playing too loose out of position - bad. I've gotten better with this in the last 4-5k hands I think, but I need to tighten up even more. I also will start to be more table selective. There's a good few regulars at the tables and it is noticeable when the table is made up of 3-4 of them. I think that's it for now. I really appreciate what you guys do here, thanks a lot in advance for any help, advice, pointing out glaring fail, etc. -Gobbatino |

lol wtf ok here goes: you're not as good as you may think you are your preflop stats are really fishy, you're calling a whole lot and raising very little I wouldn't be calling raises unless you're on the button, BB or SB, I prefer 3b or folding in other positions (except if you have a pocket pair) and actually fold a lot more of your blinds, you seem to be running good from the BB and you think you're doing fine from there, but your SB is a reflection of how you played BOTH of your blinds, you just happened to lose hands in the SB and win hands in the BB |

iopq, do you think this guy thinks he's good? doesn't come across that way to me, he pointed out every leak he already knows about and sounds like a humble guy trying to ask for help/advice. Gobb I don't usually comment on these kind of posts because there are so many folks who are way better at analyzing these stats than I am. I haven't been a ring guy that long, switch from SNGs at the beginning of the year. The one thing I find interesting is how often you've got VPIP in the BB. Personally I rarely complete a raise in the BB (I'll have to take a peek at this stat for myself tomorrow). If I'm playing it and it was raised before me, I'm almost always raising because I don't want to play out of position - if my hand's strong enough to play, I'd rather raise and see if I can take it down right away. So the only time would be if it's folded to sb and he raises and I've got a playable hand, I might call since I'd have position on him. |

1. VPIP and PFR would be better off closer 2. You need to work on becoming more positonally aware. Cut out marginal hands from early postions and really open up the the Button/Cutoff, and even Hijack depending on who is behind you. 3. No open limping 4. ATS is tooo low. This is the same as my postionally aware point. You should aim for somewhere around 30% ATS, give or take a few %. So you need to be open raising more from the button/cutoff. 5. Isolating limpers will increase your PFR as will stealing blinds. 6. TIGHTEN UP IN SB! This should lower your vpip a little. Probably be better if your VPIP dropped a bit, your PFR raised, and your ATS shot up. I suggest reading all articles in the digest, and search for spoonitnow's articles on blind stealing, and raising limpers. Overall you seem to sort of raise the same hands from all positions. Work on opening more marginal hands from later postion and cut the marginal hands that are at the bottom of your range from earlier postions. |

Thinking I'm good at this point would be flat out denial. :P Looking back at some HHs I'm surprised to be breaking even. But I've identified issues, and will now be working on them. And I have time and willpower to get better. Anyhoo... Thanks for the advice so far. |

| Have a look at/post some hand histories for big hands you played from the small blind. AA, KK should be profitable, even from the small blind. From the win %, it looks like you are losing big pots and winning small ones. eg You won 70% of your KK hands but still lost money overall. Maybe you need to improve how you play good/big hands out of position. | ||

| It looks like a lot of profit is lost in non-showdown winnings. I would guess this is from betting too big into too many pots and putting yourself in situations that force you to fold a lot after the flop. Then again maybe this is a normal progression of the non-showdown line or not enough hands to judge that. | ||

What's the rake structure? Is this one of those retarded $10NL games that gets raked to death? If so, you're crushing it. Pre-flop isn't that bad. Drop down to the 1c/2c 6 max game and learn how to play poker. |

The W$WSF and W$SD seem fine, ~40% and 50% +, so you're making some decent reads and typically taking correct actions postflop. When I first learned to beat the micros, I would say this to myself about preflop actions: "If you ain't got the balls to raise, fold it." You can call with pp's, however. |
