just a question, ive read that 2NL is often just like play money and rarely resembles anything in every other level. I've been playing for a few months but need more experience before doing anything significant.

For a confidence/learning exercise can u play 2NL or would you recommend just playing at 10NL+.

10NL can be like play money too. 10NL on Pacific was a total donk fest that didn't resemble logic play at all.

If you have the money, move to 10NL and make some more money.

The fact that it doesn't resemble "proper" poker is a good thing. It means you can beat it really easily and move up quickly.

So much like play money in fact that you can open push with AA preflop and still get instacalls from T7s and A3o pretty regularly.

It resembles play money, but if you play like the play money, you will lose your money. Play "real" poker and kill it.

ive just played a few sessions of 2NL and have to say it is a few things:

1. totally mindless, and easy.

2. having said that im not sure that it'll improve my game, ive played 5NL,10NL and you can apply strategy and subtle edges, but at this level it's more being a robot and making other people pay.

It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

As you move up, you will discover that every level has terrible players, there are just fewer of them the higher the stakes. You need to learn how to take as much money as you can from these players and 2NL is a great place to learn that.

play one $10NL table and do some camping on 1 or 2 other $2NL, that´s what i do right now, the $2NL tables will at least compensate eventual beats on the $10 and if you don´t have the experience for multitabling (like me), the $2NL don´t need any much attention, just be aware of the other multitabling rocks....
