Default Agua Caliente in Rancho Mirage (near Palm Springs)

I went to this casino last weekend during my golf weekend in Palm Desert. The poker room had ten tables, nine of which were hold'em. Unfortunately, none of the tables were no limit. The table limits went from 3/6 to 20/40. Most had the half kill/full kill option which added a little twist.

Question: What's the consensus on high limit vs. no limit? I understand the bankroll/by in must be larger and the blinds are bigger. However, it seems to me the reason no limit is favored is because you have the option of betting a large enough amount to get people to fold. But, wouldn't this also be the case on a high limit table i.e. 20/40?

The bet size compared to the pot size are still the same ratios, so you will not be able to make a bet large enough, when compared to the pot size, to fold out drawing hands in many situations. You can't vary your bet size based on the strength of your hand.

Granted, the bets are larger and the players are better, but it's still just a limit game.

if casinos could find a way to set a rake for a no limit game, im sure theyd spring up in casinos.
