I think the turn bet is good because it charges him to draw to any heart.
The river is a pretty clear check-call imo. C/c costs the same as b/f and gives you a chance to pick off bluffs. B/f just makes him fold worse hands and raise you with better ones OR allows him bluff you off the pot with a worse hand, which is a disaster.

I agree it's pretty hard to imagine villian just calling along with any hand that doesn't end up beating us on the river. Of the hands we're still ahead of on the river, some (e.g., AK [no heart) you'd expect him to raise the flop with and others (e.g., QQ [no heart]) he'd be sensible to fold on the flop. But you never know and a lot of guys play scared/bad on 3 flush boards when they're bet into but will bluff the river if you check to them when the fourth flush and straight card come simultaneously. We only have to win 1/7 times to make calling a river bet correct.
Obviously getting raised on the river makes it more likely we're behind but we don't know that when the card first drops so i still like c/c best.

Hes saying that if u check and he bets, your getting offered 7 to 1 by the pot ( the pot is 7 times bigger than your call size .... 7.25 big bets in pot and it will cost 1 big bet to go to showdown)
Therefore if this exact same situation came up 8 times and you only won one of them you would break even. (technically profit .25/8)
So to take it further, you should be thinking in terms of his hand range and if you will win 12.5% of the time.
I agree that checking on the river definately widens his bluff range and probably makes it correct.
