you would've never saved your trips, now if you actually had a set (pocket pair + board), it'd be easier to mask given the board. but... you should fold preflop, else, the pot is too inflated to protect your hand at all.

1) Fold Preflop
2) You have trips, not a set

Where's MP3 in all of this.

Is this play money??

Anyway.

Fold preflop.

Flat call flop.
3-bet turn.

It wouldn't have helped but anyway.

Hey, this flop call ain't that bad if he knows that this table is such a fishfest. I'd prefer he had TJ, but these are some goot implied odds.

Yes, 23s UTG sucks balls, but 23s UTG knowing full well that 8 people are calling after you makes 23s UTG suck less balls.

He got unlucky that someone else hit the boat. Thats all.

^^ is this correct thinking ? if you have a draw preflop and for the hand the tables' loose, is it worth seeing the flop ?

i also thought i could bet people out of the pot on the flop ( i knew itd be unlikely with all the preflop action) yet i had to try. is this the correct action to protect my hand or am i pretty much toast as im most likely called to the river ?

Well... first off theres no reason to raise the river at these stakes.

second, protecting this flop with a threebet is kind of a useless attempt. Anyone with a pocket pair is going to call anyway. A raise on the turn ain't bad.

This preflop call isn't horrible, IF YOU KNOW THAT IT WILL GO MULTIWAY. If youre at a tight table, this is a huge no-no. If you know its goin 8 way with this big ass pot... a call aint horrid. Note that youre fairly likely to make a second best hand.

Even in large multiway pots, hands with a 2 or a 3 end up at the bottom end of the profit scale. usually, 45s or even 56s are the lowest I would ever play.
