Both opponents a little fishy
Preflop: Gutless Hero is SB with 7, K.
[color:blue]3 folds, CO calls, [color:blue]1 fold, Gutless Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: (3 SB) 5, T, 7(3 players)
[color:red]Gutless Hero bets, BB calls, [color:red]CO raises, Gutless Hero folds, BB calls.

Turn: (4 BB) K(2 players)
BB checks, CO checks.

River: (4 BB) 3(2 players)

Problem 1 was started preflop, fold or raise.

Problem 2: what was worth betting for? And, if you're in the pot for one bet you have to call for two here. If you dont improve, then fold the turn. Its really one of those small blinds that cost you money, theres a reason why you dont play it.

Should've folded since it was 2nd pair anyway and a lot of people play AT or KT. The flush is a worrier, but you're dominated whether they have a T or a flush/flush draw. It was a good fold, who can guess that a K would hit, then they check it to the end?

The reason I completed is that I didn't respect the CO's limp, but nor did I feel my hand was strong enough to warrent a raise. Maybe the bb folds, but in all likelyhood they both call, and now I am playing K7o in a raised pot.

I bet out on the flop with the mid pair to see if I would get played back. I did, so I figure I am behind (either a T or flush draw).

Note that I don't think either of the above plays were particularly decent, just trying to explain my thought process.

Yea, I totally understand your play. I most likely wouldn't have bet the flop, other than that you didn't do anything to terribly bad. If a K had hit you would've at least been in a decent spot with limpers and with mid pair the fold was right.

whether you respect his limp or not, you avoid tricky situations like this by not playing crappy offsuit cards in the SB
