Five people in the pot. Flop is uninteresting 7 8 T

I check
Some guy FOLDS
I'm like "whatever"
everyone else checks

next card is a jack
everyone checks
next card is a nine

straight on the board!

everyone checks for a four-way chop
everyone gets a little money except for that guy who folded

I've seen worse at live 2/4. Guy bets and raises and caps (5 bets) all the way until the river, where it's checked to him (because he's obviously going to bet with anything) AND HE FOLDS. We're talking about a >$100 pot here and he folds when it's checked to him. He did this several times too. What really amazed me is how no one said a word about it.

Why would you say anything about it? I'd just fall off my chair laughing

Or say, "Good fold."

That's great though. I think the best thing to do is just nod like people do it all the time.

Don't you suppose that he was on some kind of crappy draw, like 23s or something, knew he couldn't possibly win and didn't want anyone to know the kind of hands he'll play (and raise with?).

I throw hands away without a bet to me in SNGs. Several reasons:

In some situations I don't want to fold to a bet and let the guy think he's going to start running me over.

Another is that if there are two or more others in the hand, I don't want the next guy to bet strong, and have the third guy throw away a draw because he's afraid of getting caught in the middle. If I throw away, I think he's sometimes more likely to make a bad call, get hooked, and bust OR bust the other guy.

Plus, sometimes I just gotta piss and want to get out of the hand quick so I don't have to go "I'm Away"

Some guy online folded when it was HU with me and checked to him. I was like...uhhhh...thanks? And then he says he had a bad hand. I don't understand...
