Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is BB with T, J.
1 fold, Button calls, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (3 SB) 5, 8, 9 (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, Button calls, SB calls.

Turn: (3 BB) 7 (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, Button calls, SB raises, Hero 3-bets, Button calls, SB calls.

River: (12 BB) Q (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, Button calls, SB calls.

Final Pot: 15 BB

Results in white below:
SB has 6h Qd (straight, nine high).
Hero has Th Jd (straight, queen high).
MP doesn't show.
Button has Ah Ad (one pair, aces).
Outcome: Hero wins 15 BB.

The last orbit he openlimped with 99 on the button. Let me play for free with my A4. Flopped an A and he check called me down. Funny thing is - I know this is how I played just 6 months ago.

Button had that one coming but i'm sure you see players playing all sorts of shit goofy at 5/10 and up...

He was playing AoK's counterplay strategy.
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

his preflop play isn't the big mistake, it's the post flop play.
take your ego out of the equation and judge the situation dispassionately

I don't see how he played any street correctly. His first call on the turn is the only defensible play IMO.

My line as Button: raise preflop, raise flop, raise or call the first turn bet, fold to the 3 bet.

Anyhoo - 10 minutes, up 14 BigBets, paid for my losses in my MTTS
