This is not something I think I've seen addressed directly, but typically I've found I do better in limit with fewer players. Or, in this case, when most people fold pre-flop, I'm more willing to try to muscle away a pot with a bad hand. What are people's thoughts on the way this hand played out? I should mention that this was also a surprisingly tight table.
PokerStars 0.02/0.04 Hold'em (5 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is Button with Q , 4 .
2 folds, Hero raises, SB calls, 1 fold.
I figured I'd fold the flop if there was anything higher than a queen.
Flop: (5 SB) J , 3 , Q (2 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, SB calls $0.02 (All-In).
And then I figured I'd fold if another spade was dealt, but then again this guy was all-in, so it didn't matter.
Turn: (4.50 BB) 2 (2 players, 1 all-in)
River: (4.50 BB) T (2 players, 1 all-in)
Final Pot: 4.50 BB

At .02/.04, you can't ever really muscle a pot, tight table or not. Even if the table is tight for that limit, you're probably going to have a showdown, even if the one player wasn't all-in. TP with no kicker might be enough to win, but I'm not liking having no kicker. I wouldn't call pre-flop from the button with this hand. raising is probably better like you did against such a short field, but this is a hand, I'd let the blinds fight over. the pot is small and to me not worth making a stand and trying to take it down.
