villain is 15/12 and steals blinds 69% of the time. my "plan" was to 3bet and lead a flop. however, we sort of hit it with overs and gutter. and, i only fire the 2nd barrel because the oe hits. i have no idea what snapped in my head to b/3b the turn. i suppose i had him on air as well.
i dont think the plan was bad given his stats. but, i DO think i took this too far.

???? What am I missing here? Isn't the hero you? How did the bluff go horribly wrong, you got what you wanted, right? He folded and you won a nice pot, that's more like 'when bluffs go wonderfly right'.

youre right. it worked....this time. but, its spew. i just kept digging deeper and deeper into my hole. that is a recipe for losing poker most of the time....not something to do. but, i think, occasionally, we all do it.....occasionally is the key.

I actually don't mind this so much, though ONLY occasionally. What obviously happened is that villain had a pair and thought he was drawing dead to a straight or set when you 3-bet him on the turn. The key is, despite his steal percentage, 15/12's can be quite nitty, and I think you ran into one here.
Might be interesting to look at some of Villain's other stats to flesh out the nittiness.
