Is this just variance?
Seems like an awful big difference from 1/2 to 2/4...

it's unlikely a 4.5 BB/100 difference in winrate will occur just due to variance over a 25k sample. We are in the statistically this will happen < 1/100 times realm. So even though your stats are otherwise the same on both levels, I suspect you may be having the same problems as I sometimes do when I move up - you are treating your 2/4 opponents either like 1/2 dummies or like bluffing maniacs.

The biggest difference I find as you go up in levels is the level of consciousness of the players. Whereas someone at 1/2 might cap a low flush on a paired board, someone at 2/4 is more likely to realise they could be behind. The other thing is that just because someone at 2/4 raises the turn with TPTK when a 1/2 player would just call down doesn't mean they're bluffing at 2/4. People still play pretty straightforwardly - it's just that they are raising when they should instead of calling down!

My advice is to just give your 2/4 opponents a bit more respect for being sensible. Play tighter. They are better players after all than the guys at 1/2.

Well I have the opposite problem: after I moved up I gave them too much credit and tried to be more aggressive... when ABC tag poker still wins

how did you play 85% of the hands in 60% of the time? Did you 8 table instead of 6 tabling or something

Good point, i did 4table at 2/4 whereas i usually 3table 1/2
That is definitely a leak (or at least part of the cause of a reduction of my 2/4 winrate)
That IS something i hadn't consciously thought about yet
