If you don't pay any attention.
Villain here is known to me. Complete loon, 70/8, not overly aggressive postflop and yet I still did this:
I put villain on high PP or broadways because I didn't pay enough attention to the stats on the screen.
Hero is BB with A A
Preflop:
2 fold, MP1 raises, Villain calls, 3 fold, Hero 3-bets, Mp1 calls, Villain calls
Flop: (9.5sb-3 players) 7 7 8
Hero bets, MP1 calls, Villain raises, hero 3-bets, 1 fold, villain 4-bets, hero calls
Turn: (9.25bb-2 players) J
Hero checks, Villain bets, hero raises (??), villain 3-bets, hero calls
River: (13.25bb-2 players) T
Hero bets (??), villain calls.
Villain shows K 7
What would have been a smarter play here? Check/call it down after the 4-bet on the flop?
I'm fairly disgusted with myself, after some sucky luck today I didn't need to compound the issue with such terrible play.

I just liked the way this was put. When people play junk and flop a big hand then raise and cap the flop they are doing us a big favor. They are screaming loud and clear 'you're beat!!!'. So accept the favor and call down.

Couldn't have said it better. The villian is obviously on the nuts, and the hero (like we all do sometimes) is blinded by rockets turned boat. I must say even if the hero is smart enough to lay down AA it's still hard to set down a boat some times.

Yeah--check-calling on the t and r after the flop cap is clearly the most aggressive action I'd want to take with this hand.
Ahhh, having done it myself too too many times, I recognize the river bet. It says, I don't think I've lost enough money on this hand, and would like to lose more. Would you care to take it from me?

What's the point in having a HUD? lol, i'm not even gonna answer that question...
but when he caps the flop, i c/c it down, and you have to know on turn once he 3 bets he has a 7 most of the time, i just don't think he is that loony even if he is a 70/8 that doesn't account for post flop aggression...
i agree with Jeff on this one 110%...
