No. He made a minimum bet with a great draw at half the pot - any 4, 5, 7, or 8 gives him the best possible low, and any 2 or 3 gives him a decent low as well (although not as strong). You min-raised him and he of course called. Even if you'd put him all in there I think he still has to call on pot odds alone. He sucked out on your high and that part was a bad beat, but his play here makes perfect sense.

It was limit high/low, that's why I made the min-raise... I guess what clouded my judgement was I kept thinking there was only one low card... forgot there were two at this point.

I think what got me upset was this was going to become heads up, since no one else called and instead of just splitting, he sucked out and got the straight, doubling up

I kind of see it as him taking a shot at picking up the pot right there, with the secondary hope of elimating other low draws from the pot. But probably just a semi-bluff that worked out for him.

Sorry, missed that it was limit. He probably saw that he had a great draw for half the pot, and that the pot was already bigger than his remaining chips - there was no getting away from it. He made an interesting move betting out with just his draw, but maybe he was looking to juice the pot with a couple callers (should have known better what with the pair of aces out there... only a competing low draw or an ace would call at that point).

Really, what he does after the flop on this hand is immaterial, in a sense. He can't possibly fold the draw he's got with so few chips left. He can check/call, or maybe check/raise somebody else's bet just to get more money in the pot. Or he can bet out and it can go down like this. However he acts, it's probably going to end up the same way with that board.

As soon as the turn card hits, he made the right play... when I'm short stacked in hi/low I make the same play... I just need to stop multi-tabling with different games and forgetting that an ace is low as well
