Recently I have noticed everyone at the poker table wants to give advice on how to play.

I was in a 6/12 game, and 7?! players limped in without a raise. I had QJ of spades and raised it up from the big blind.

Of course one player decides to tell me that you should never raise from the big blind, and another asks why I would raise since I knew that no one was going to fold for one more bet.

Normally I answer something along the lines of "I don't know, I'm drunk"
But this time I decided to share a little.

"To get more money in the pot, obviously! Big pots are fun!"

I won that pot and over $200 with a flush, enciting more groans of "you raised with QJ? You knew someone had to have you beat!"

To which I dutifully answered, "I don't know, I'm drunk."

I don't know if I had a point here, but um.... People who tell you how to play probably don't know what they're talking about.

I dunno, but from the sound of things, it's pretty damn good.

You're surpised by the play at low limits at B&M casinos? Sounds pretty normal to me.

Many players in the local 4/8 and 6/12 games don't even look at their cards when in the blinds.

Probably comes back to personality types. Some people love the ego boost, or are there to socialize, rather than be quiet and rutheless. In addition, they probably know just enough to recognize some errors in play, but don't know enough to know they should shut the hell up.
