Check behind... what do you think he's chasing? There's no value in a bet at this point. His check is an obvious bit of bait, and that is the worst possible card you could see on the river, since it fills out the obvious flush draw and puts four to a straight on the board. Loose/passive goes out of his way to check-raise? He has a straight or flush, probably the latter.

Really, you like the river bet? It seems like he's very likely to get called or raised by a better hand, and not terribly likely to get called by anything that plausibly coordinates with that board and still makes an actual hand. A pair of queens, maybe? I hate that river card all kinds of ways and would be happy to check there even with an overpair.

I would only ever check that river behind against an opponent capable of check/raise bluffing that river often enough to make me want to call and capable of laying down a pair in that spot for one bet. In other words, not this idiot. Most players this capable are playing at least 5/10 online or 6 max.

Also, I put him on Qx. The fashonable way to play your draws and middle/bottom pair these days is to lead into the PFR...

Close your eyes and bet. Maybe after doing this often enough you'll see how silly this statement is.

The magic 8-ball sez:
MP2 has Q 8 tough river.
