Hey guys,
I've recently got into omaha and I think the game is brilliant but I'm having trouble down at 25 PLO because there's so many damn players in each flop.
What do we do with AAxx if we're in position and miss the flop completely?
At the moment I c-bet all dry flops (rainbow / fairly unconnected / low cards ) from any position, and only c-bet other flops I hit OOP.
In position I sometimes fire off a c-bet if the board comprises of mainly high scary cards and it's been checked around, but from past experience doing it on other flops just seems to get me into trouble. Sometimes I feel like at this limit I shouldn't be c-betting anything that I don't hit?!
example hand that I suck at playing:
Party Poker $25 Pot Limit Omaha Hi - 9 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com
SB: $9.50
BB: $45.40
UTG: $14.46
UTG+1: $33.52
UTG+2: $27.32
Hero (MP1): $25.00
MP2: $36.72
CO: $22.30
BTN: $26.28
Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is MP1 with J A A 2
UTG calls $0.25, UTG+1 calls $0.25, 1 fold, Hero raises to $1.35, 3 folds, SB calls $1.25, BB calls $1.10, UTG calls $1.10, 1 fold
Flop: ($5.65) 5 6 T (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $5.37, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls $5.37
Turn: ($16.39) 8 (2 players)
UTG bets $7.74 all in, Hero folds
Final Pot: $16.39
UTG wins $15.58
(Rake: $0.81)
I'm pretty bad with this aspect of omaha. An overpair in holdem is lolship , but in omaha I often feel that in multiway pots I houldn't be betting/calling with just an overpair and no draw. Is this correct thinking or should I be betting these flops?

I'll usually give up on that flop 4 way, 56=gin
with no other info I would almost never felt a bare overpair unless you get a bunch of money in pre flop.

So basically I shouldn't be trying to bloat the pot, and if I only make it 3 BBs I've really got to hit a set or nut flush draw to be willing to get it in on the flop?
Another situation I get sometimes is when I have aces and flop the nut flush draw, lead out for pot and get called. Then they go and pot the turn on a blank. I can't call if I think I'm beat with 1 card to come and not much left behind can I?
Leads me to another thing I haven't figured out about omaha just yet, which is how often are your aces good against aggression? I mean I've turned coward when I flop nothing and have people betting pot OOP on the flop and just go ahead and fold them. Obviously it's villain read dependant but until you have a read do you just do the same?
I.e. If you know they are aggro with just a draw you can play back at them but not until you see them show something down?

'just a draw' is really poor thinking in omaha where plenty of draws will be 40%+ vs you but you're in terrible shape vs the set.
'Just top pair' would make more sense.
