What do you think of this hand?
After him capping the flop I considered going into call down mode (was a little frustrated that he might have hit 2 x jack on the flop). But he took too long to think before betting the river so I put that raise in.
Do you think that was played well? What do you put him on? (no reads here 2nd or 3rd orbit).Any feedback apreciated.
Preflop: Hero is Button with A , A .
2 folds, MP1 raises, MP2 calls, 1 fold, CO 3-bets, Hero caps, SB calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls.
Flop: (21 SB) J , 8 , J (5 players)
SB checks, MP1 bets, MP2 calls, CO raises, Hero 3-bets, SB calls, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, CO caps, Hero calls, SB calls.
Turn: (17.50 BB) 5 (3 players)
SB checks, CO bets, Hero calls, SB folds.
River: (19.50 BB) 2 (2 players)
CO bets, Hero raises, CO calls.
Final Pot: 23.50 BB

How about the turn? Should I have raised? But I raise him preflop, on the flop, and he still caps the flop and leads the turn. Of course he leads the river cause I just called the turn. Only reason I raise was that awful long time it took him to bet the river. Think he was a bit on tilt and finally realised he was probably beat finally deciding to bet just in case I had AK or sth.
You were really close Fnord, he had TT.

J, 8, J
He may has a J indeed in a 9 handed table.
i won't even consider bet or raise in river.
OF course, I am wrong in this case.
But I belieive I may not be long if there are many similar cases like this.

It would be tricky indeed to cap the flop with JJ. No one would ever put you on flopped quads.
I gotta go with Fnord on this one. KK or QQ is most likely. This is kind of crazy aggressive for TT, and a Jack will normally wait for the turn to raise.

To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

He doesnt have a jack or a boat, he would have reraised the river. I like the river raise.

of course when a similar thing happened to me, the guy who capped the flop had 88 (an overpair) and hit his set on the TURN. wtf?!
another time, i capped heads up vs a maniac and he cracked my AA with 55 by flopping quads which of course i gave him no credit for whatsoever.

Not a lot of Jx hands play like that pre-flop. Even if he had something like AJs/KJs/JJ, he'll often try to get cute on the flop.
SB is much more likely to have the Jack given the action. Once he folds it's a pretty high value river raise.
