I have seen MP around, usually at FR tables. He used to play kinda loose and HE donky but the last couple months he's been much tighter/better. First 3 bet, probably been at table 45 mins. UTG bought in short and seems terrible.

I think I raise the flop.
He plays it like he would play Aces, and the fact that he fires again on the river when the flush hits kind of convinces me he has it

what's your reasoning behind raising the flop?
btw I'd fold the turn and never tell anyone what I folded on the turn

He's never calling the flop with Ax unless he has spades to go with it and that's tough since I have the next two spades and there is a pair out. i doubt he 3 bets the flop with an unbeatable full so I don't really think raising gives us much info. Plus we're drawing to quads!

I agree but did not have the strength of will required

the biggest problem here is we never have the nuts which just makes it so easy for a competent opponent to play against us.

Nah, I think we have to make him bet one more time or raise flop (which I talked about above and don't care for). The best thing about 3 betting non AA hands is you can often win nice medium pots with nothing on boards like this.
also don't forget shorty. We assume he doesn't have AA so if the 3 better has like AXxx with spades or even without he doesn't mind getting it in vs the shorty and I have to act before UTG so he gets a lot of cheap info with this bet since any play I make is almost surely not a bluff.
