MP3 is 40/4 over 50 hands - he sucks bad but no real read on his play. Button is loose and semi-aggressive and the blinds are both tighish passive.
Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (10 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is CO with 4 , A .
5 folds, MP3 calls, Hero raises, 3 folds, MP3 calls.
Flop: (5.40 SB) J , 2 , 7 (2 players)
MP3 bets, Hero folds.
Final Pot: 3.20 BB
Is this flop fold ok? It seems really weak and I'm worried people will start taking shots at me if I keep making these folds.
Also, anyone dislike the preflop raise?

After watching him play that many hands, no read?!?!?
I would fold pre-flop because if the Button joins the party your hand turns into toilet paper.
Generally the weak lead says "I got a piece". Given the situation, I think a fold is fine.

Big hole in my game - I'm fucking lazy and I have a tiny attention span. I only actually take notes if someone does something really dodgy like check/raise bluff the turn on a broadway board vs. PFR. I need to work on that.

That's true, I just got excited at the idea of getting a loose passive MP3-open-limping donk heads-up with an Ace in position. What's the lowest offsuit Ace you'll raise here?

Ok, I might just be getting paranoid because this situation is coming up more often than I'd like.
If I changed A4 to A8 does your decision change?
Would you raise (A4) against an aggressive player?

Loose players are easier to get reads on because they play so many hands. Another advantage of playing tight...
Per what I would raise there, certainly A8o and A4s. After that it gets hazy. Although I REALLY REALLY HATE having a LAggy player with immediate position on me. So much so, I will uncheck "auto-post blinds", camp premium hands, then leave when my blinds come up.

I think the raise sux too. I think you and Fnord are right ... gotta have at least A8. A4 is so easily dominated, you need some really, really special circumstances to play it at all. Like 5 limpers in the SB. My general rule is only to play A9o or better unless its a blind steal opp. if I'm trying to steal blinds in MP I want at least A8. Also, I typically only play A9 on the Button or CO.

Sorry I didn't make it very clear, I was referring to the flop. If I had A8 instead would your flop decision change?
