I got lucky on a couple of hands last night playing 15/30. Just to show that variance goes both ways.

Hand 1: Villain has been sitting there awhile, and I have a good read on him. He probably raises at least one-third of the time pre-flop, and his pre-flop raising range from any position includes at least 22+, all suited connectors and one-gappers down to 54 and 64, Ax, Kxs, KQo-K8o, QJ-Q8, JT-J8.

Hero is in the cut-off with AdQd.
Pre-flop: Folds to Villain who raises, folds to Hero who three-bets, SB calls, folds to Villain who caps, Hero calls, SB calls.

Flop is Qc9c5d
SB and Villain check, Hero bets, SB folds, Villain calls.

Turn is 5s
Villain checks, Hero bets, Villain calls.

River is Qh
Villain checks, Hero bets, Villain calls.

Hero tables his hand, Villain disgustedly mucks AcAs.

Hand 2: This villain is a fairly tight player, who I don't think would have called me pre-flop except he was in the big blind with a suited hand.

Hero is on the button with QhQd

2 players limp, Hero raises, SB, BB, and all the limpers call .

Flop is QsTd3d
Checks to Hero, Hero bets, SB folds, BB call, everyone else folds.

Turn is 4d
BB bets, Hero calls.

River is 4s
BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls.

Villain had a Jack-high flush.

LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.

Nothing beats flopping quads while dropping a duece!
