Im just withdrawling the $200 up i made tonight on paradise, 3 tabling .50/$1.

Since march 1st ive been playing a decent amount (3-4hrs a night) of 3-4 table poker on all the different sites collecting the bonuses. Including 600 in bonuses im up my first 1000 bucks playing .50/$1

Is it time to move on up to $1/$2?? I tried it for my first time and its just a little harder to play the same cause you can lose a bunch of money on one hand so quickly...but once you forget about that, im sure i could do well.

I have to say, ive learned more and plugged more leaks from what ive learned here on FTR. Thanks all.
Dont F' with me, I can grind it out like a bot

Gotta agree with fnord... I popped into party 2/4 for a little bit and the players are just as bad as 1/2 if you search for them. It'll just takes a while to get used to a 20BB swing. I can't wait to get in there full time once I give myself my poker priveleges back after I graduate.

20BB swing? The swings are much greater than 20BBs. On any given day I've swung as much as 75bb or so through 2000 hands. N20, it looks like you are running pretty good to pull 1k from .5/1 that fast. If your bankroll can handle it 1200+, then move up. You can always drop down and milk the .5/1 cash cow. Either way, the 2/4 is soft serve, get Pokertracker and GT+ or PV and hit the tables.

I was just using 20BB because thats about an 80BB swing from where he is at now. Its not the size of the swing thats hard it is the difference in money a small swing like 20BB at 2/4 can bring....

Even if 600 of the 1000 is from bonuses, I'm guessing you played around 6000 hands, and being up $400, means you're around 6-7BB/100, if that's around normal for you at that level, I say move up too. The thing I'd be worried about is that the amount of money being thrown around doesn't affect your play.

I'm still sitting at .50/1.00, and have tried 1/2, but I make more at .50/1.00. I sure am thinking about trying 2/4 the way evryone seems to promote it here.

Thanks for the advice guys... Yea i cant imagine being down several hundred bucks at $2/$4 and not being kinda freaked out about it so thats the main worry I have.

I gotta say, Id buy all you guys a round of beer if I could cause man you guys really make a difference in making myself a solid player.

I just bought poker tracker..so im going to get started on party at $2/$4...

Wish me luck hehe...

Perhaps this has been covered, but I would submit a strong vote for 2/4 over 1/2. After starting with .5/1, I was doing well, and moved to 1/2 where I took a beating. After making some adjustments and starting to increase my WR at 1/2, I took the advice of FTR'ers by not bothering to try to beat 1/2 and move right to 2/4. Now, I'm doing about as well as 1/2 with less variance.

My experience at 1/2 is that you have a mix of wild fish and tricky micro-stakers that wreak havoc on your variance. I found 1/2 quite frustrating with frequent 30-50BB downswings.

My experience with 1/2 is that it is very table dependent... Find yourself a good table and punish it until it loads up with TAGs. If you hop on a table and don't find it profitable, drop it quickly. I do much better when I do not try to beat a hard table but accept the small loss and move on to greener pastures.

One of fnord's "why you suck" points that really hit home and has led to and adjustment in my play and profitability.

I would tend to agree with this. In fact, I probably should do this more...
