How are you "jumping into the tables". Are you just picking 4 tables and sitting down. Are you 4 tabling without pv or gt+? Do you pick one table at a time, play a while, then open another one? Starting off cold is common, dont worry about it. Play solid and trust your reads.

First 5 minutes...maybe sample size?

But, seriously, I will say that my first several sessions at 2/4 seemed like a steep downward slope, which made me wonder. But, once I got over the size of the bet, and made some minor adjustments, things turned around quickly.

something I like doing is adding the new limit one table at a time until I am comfortable with it. sorta tricks your mind into a comfort zone if you have 3 tables you usually play and a 2/4 mixed in....

Well I have poker tracker running now, its empty and just started my database as i just bought it, and i have PV running with it, but theres no real info yet on people..

Yea i picked 4 tables with the highest pot size avg that i saw...

Itll be awhile before i build up useable info on the players at the table..

any other ideas?

sorry i just freaked when i lost what it takes me two-three hours to make at .50/$1 in 5 minutes hehe

I would suggest playing one table for two orbits, then open another table, and so forth. You only need about 20-30 hands to get some idea of what the player is like. Just jumping into 4 tables will be tough and I do not advocate it at all. Next time you play, try it, It gives a feel for what type of table you are sitting at.

Oh yea, the mustang pic in my sig is mine.

heads/intake/cam 306

11.22@122mph on a 125 shot.

Not nine second fast, but fun.

just to put things into perspective....
that is only 20BB lost, which is 2 decent sized pots. all you need is pumping the flush draw that missed, or get your set cracked on the river.

Have you configured the observed hands import? I usually observe the table for 10 minutes or so before joining the wait list. This will give you some hands (10-20 + the ones you gather while you're on the wait list) on most of the players at the table, which will give you a rough idea of who is playing too many hands and raising too much.

Hey im still playing many hours later! im back to even (WHEW!)

Actually no ive never used any of that. Is that why there are so many people watching so much??

How do i configure to watch the table?

Also, Do any of you just leave maybe 4 poker tables open and running even when your not playing to build a database of common players or will that take up to much space on my HD, I heard it holds 2 gigs in a PT database but I wasnt sure how many hands that was

Only works on Party skins. There is a button on the Auto-Import dialog maked "Configure Auto-Import of Observed Hands" that you need to click on and add the directory where your Party skin is installed (something like C:\Program Files\Party Poker".

GL and have fun!

I usually play 2 or sometimes 3 tables, but I always wait about 2 orbits before adding another table.

My first time going up to 2/4 from 1/2. I was all ready to go. I started playing my normal game then got into a hand and started watching the pot build and my adrenaline started flowing, hands started shaking. I'm glad I wasn't playing a B&M. I felt like I used to feel playing NL. I actually stepped back down to build up my BR a little more before going back up and to make sure the $ amount dosen't effect my play. Here was the hand.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with J, J.
3 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls.

Flop: (10.50 SB) J, 8, 4 (5 players)
BB checks, MP2 checks, MP3 bets, CO folds, Hero calls, BB folds, MP2 calls.

Turn: (6.75 BB) A (3 players)
MP2 checks, MP3 bets, Hero raises, MP2 calls, MP3 calls.

River: (12.75 BB) 3 (3 players)
MP2 checks, MP3 bets, Hero raises, MP2 folds, MP3 calls.

Final Pot: 16.75 BB

Results in white below:
MP3 has As Js (two pair, aces and jacks).
Hero has Jc Jd (three of a kind, jacks).
Outcome: Hero wins 16.75 BB.

Nothing special but should I have raised the flop? I was hoping to keep other players in.
