How do you normally play this kind of hand? I missed the flop, then got middle pair on the turn (normally, I'd bet the flop if I was on the button with middle pair). Harman suggests actually raising the turn here, intending to dump it if reraised or called:

the pot is way too small to just simply call the turn bet here. raise if you think you can win the hand or fold now while the pot is small

raise or fold preflop.

bet the flop, bet the turn, check the river is how it should have played out.

And if he plays back at you, do you fold it on the flop/turn/river?

Normally, I'd raise the turn here, since I'm planning to call the river anyway. I might just get a free showdown out of it, or maybe a fold, if he's bluffing. If he plays back at me, I fold.

The main reason I didn't raise here was because of my gutshot straight draw. I wanted to take the cheap card. I knew I was calling this one down, so it didn't cost me any more money. If I raised and got played with, I'd have to fold.

Unless UTG +1 is very tight (in which case you fold), raise this preflop. You can isolate the limper and have a good chance to force out the blinds to increase the value of your hand with less people. Part of why you are having a hard time deciding what to do is because you fear an Ace rag, which you allowed to beat you (out of the blinds at least) by not raising preflop. By raising preflop, it also makes your decision making easier on later streets. With this flop, you can raise to represent Ace, and if called or checkraised still have a chance to improve to the best hand.

On the button I raise KJo pre-flop for isolation/value. This gives you an advantage when you wiff on the flop, and may get the blinds to fold.

Continuing on that line, if it's checked to me I fire one out on the flop, hoping that someone folds.

If I'm bet into on this turn, I'm probably going to raise. If you're reraised, then you're up against JQo (these players love their gutshots) or a set (slow-played/scared pocket kings?) or two-pair (AK or something equally ridiculous). Either way, you're way behind, and in some cases the best you can hope for is half the pot. I doubt someone with only a pair of kings only will three-bet you. Dump on a reraise.

If he calls only, he'll probably check the river. In that case, I'm taking the free showdown.
