1. If you have AK, I know you are supposed to get as many bets as possible in before the flop. So what if the flop has three rags in it. Do you bet/raise or check/call ? How does this change with position and potsize?
2. How many bets do you call with AXs preflop?
thanks

1) If I have AKs in EP in a raised pot, and 3 rags come... I would definitiely bet out - if not, check/raise. I dont like the check normally there because of the possibility of giving up a free card where you don't have a made hand. (ps this assuming theres no flush draw, if there was, i dont think youd be asking this question). If its AKo, i think betting out is a good strategy for the same reasons. You have 2 overcards in a raised pot, I think its worth it. Even if youre behind at that point, youre getting about 3:1 to draw an A or K by the river.
2) In position, id call up to 2 SB, just to see the flop (for the 9 out draw). This may not be the best idea all the time - but if im in position, I feel I have enough control over the action to make most situations profitable... at only 2 bets that is.

Don't cold call unless you're behind other cold callers. If your X is big enough, 3-bet.
