page 276 (on shorthanded play):
"a player opens for a raise and you find :Jc: :Tc: on the button. Rather than simply call the raise, why not reraise? That will help you get the hand heads-up with position and will also give you the lead ... Now the flop comes
:Qh:
Your opponent checks to you, and you bet. Unless your opponent started with a premium hand or hit the flop, he often will throw his hand away right there.

My question: I'm not seeing this happen very often at 2/4. In a reraised pot, nearly every opp I've seen is going to take one off.

page 278 (shorthanded, playing LSCs)
"you don't really want to limp into a five-handed pot with You can still play it, but if you do, raise it! ... represent a big hand on the flop whether you hit the flop or now. If you meet with some resistance, it's time to abort..."

My question: what constitutes resistance? Obviously, being raised or reraised ... but what if someone bets the flop, you raise it and get a call. Then they bet again. Does that count as resistance? I'd get out at that point.

her introductory remarks indicate she consider 20/40 and 30/60 normal.

Follow up question: so does all the Be Aggressive advice need to be watered down until you're 5/10 or more?

The key is selective aggression. You need to consider your opponent.

Just for example, on the first hand, there is almost no way your opponent is going to fold on the flop for one small bet at 2/4 as the advice suggests. I really don't know how 10/20+ plays.

HOWEVER, I still bet the flop here, because there are plenty of cards to come that I will be happy to bet on the turn if it's checked to me, and WILL likely make opponent fold after setting it up with a flop bet.

Yet she plays 3K/6K. Like anything you read you have to consider the source. It's probably been many years since she has played a 30/60 thus anything she writes is going to be skewed towards a much bigger game regardless of how much she tries not to.

Her advice simply won't fly most of the time at 2/4 and 3/6 online.

So, i grew up in a small town. people drive slow, no big hurry to get anywhere. Not to long ago i took a trip to new york. folks in NYC honking and flipping you off is just thier way of saying hello. they aren't really mad until they start pulling guns.

I haven't played 5/10 but i've played a few different sizes of aggression. i think she's getting at, you want to be a *bit* more aggressive than the rest of the table, but not so much they think you're a maniac.

at some tables, calling is damn near an insult, at others three betting is just being friendly. try to find the mark and push a little bit to the aggressive side. but, you know this, you're a smart guy.
