hand 1: call the flop. raising will blast them all away.
hand 2: looks fine. even though i think you won this hand. checking is probably overall better than betting.

hand 1: I call the flop since only one person is in. If someone in EP bets out and 2-3 people call then I raise.

In hand one, the raise is the correct play. Got to protect this one. You let in a naked ace hearts or king and you could lose to a runner runner flush or even if they spike an Ace/King. I raise this flop with position ALL day long.

In the first hand, if you just call the flop, don't you lose control of the hand and end up calling him down. Or if you call the flop, do you raise him if he bets the turn?
He might have a small pair or Axs, but other than that, if he did get a piece of the flop, you might be behind. Isn't this one of those cases where you have to raise to get an idea where you stand?

Hand 1: I agree with Trikflow, this is a .5/1 game, they WILL call anyway. You want to win this hand before you hit your flush.
Hand 2: You MUST value bet this river here. If you are ahead you can get another 5 bets at most. If you are down, you'll at most lose 2. Dont give your opponents too much coverage.

hand 1 -- your flop raise might have blown out somebody who hit the 2. good play.
hand 2 -- i check the river in this position as you did because it smells like a check raise is coming from an A or a flush.
