That was my thinking. I felt raising would make my hand look like exactly what it was, so maybe I should just call and hope to induce more action on the river.

Unfortunately an A fell, and froze my opponent who had 7-7.

In the absence of proof you have to assume that your opponents are retards therefore go ahead and raise the turn here, you have lots of stack left to get in and the only way to do it is by raising the turn.

Also, consider your suggested line? How strong doess it look when you call turn and raise river, your close to turning your hand face up whereas raising the turn doesnt polarise your range as much.

In calling the turn and raising the river you gain the river bet, and it is harder for him to fold since the pot is bigger, plus if he has a 5 it gives him a chance to improve to a FH that you beat, however if he does have a 5 and you raise the turn he may fold fearing you have the flush

Well, he'd probably fold a 5 not because he thinks I have a flush, but because he thinks I'm already full.

If he thinks I have a flush, he'll call trying to fill up, but he probably won't think I have a flush anyways because a flush doesn't raise the turn.
