Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)
Preflop: Hero is MP with 8 , 8 .
UTG calls, Hero raises, 3 folds, UTG calls.
Flop: (5.50 SB) 4 , 7 , 4 (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG calls.
Turn: (3.75 BB) 6 (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero calls.
River: (5.75 BB) 7 (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero calls.
Final Pot: 7.75 BB
Villain 60/10 or something like that, 1.4 AF.
I figure he either has air or a monster, but I think he would have c/r'd a monster. Calling down the correct thing here? If I raise the turn, he 3-bets and I lose 2 bets when I'm behind, and he folds when I'm ahead, right?

Easy raise (particularly after picking up a gutshot), and call down a 3-bet. You're giving a calling station way too much credit if you think he folds whenever he's behind on the turn.

I think his most likely holdings are things like 5x, A6, A7, or other mediocre holdings (as opposed to a monster or air). So I raise the donk bet. I think he will usually call down when behind with one of these hands rather than folding. If he calls, I bet the river too. If he 3-bets I call down.

I raise here more often than not. But i've been known to call down with a read or running bad.

So, with an aggression factor so low as 1.4, what makes you think you aren't beat? With that AF read, just looking at the flop, I was thinking 99-JJ or 77 after he led out the turn.
