Villian was a little loose VPIP about 40%, not really aggressive or passive so I read him for a floater. Standard?

It's a pretty typical line, although if you think he's a floater then wouldn't a bet/3bet be better to get more money out of him?

Define floater. I think its being used wrong (or I have it wrong.)

My definition is a player coldcalling preflop behind you, but who will bet into you if checked to: In this case for example, villian had Q,Jo. I have seen it usually with mid pockets and it can be hard to play against because it is difficult to place someone on a hand unless you are taking good notes. (ex. raising A,Ko to river, coldcaller calls down).

I thought a floater was someone who cold calls PF with the idea they will raise you on a later street like the turn?

anyways, I have to put the guy on a sure bet on the turn if checked to for me not to lead the turn again, I don't want to give away free cards and miss bets... if my read is he will bet 85%+ I probably try that line the higher probability that he bets the turn when checked to the higher probability i run that line ask Eupho when he played me at 3/6 I’d c-bet the flop c/r the turn a lot against him because I knew he was going to bet about 95%+ there to weakness...

My definition of floaters is that of pokerfanatic although I am sure there are many variations. However, the problem with going for a check/raise on the turn is that you give him an opportunity for a free card and miss value alot of the time.

I like this line against the player profile you described, but you can't overuse it. A headsup c-bet, c/r line is something that people will notice, and they will not let you fool them this way frequently.

But for this very reason it's a nice line to use sometimes because it might help you get free cards OOP on later hands.
