taken from the other thread, tell me if i made the correct adjustment. i have no reads on the players other than SB seems to be aggressive. i havent seen him bluff and show anything, but he is seeming to fire bets rather frequently. however, i've only been here about 15 hands, so assume no great reads.
0.25/0.5 Limit Holdem
6 players
Converted at weaktight.com
Stacks:
UTG ($4.25)
UTG+1 ($18.35)
CO ($7.25)
Hero ($12.85)
SB ($6.00)
BB ($7.85)
Pre-flop: (1.4 SB, 6 players) Hero is BTN
UTG calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, SB 3-bets, 1 fold, UTG calls, Hero calls
Flop: (10.0 SB, 3 players)
SB bets, UTG calls, Hero calls
Turn: (6.5 BB, 3 players)
SB bets, UTG calls, Hero raises, SB 3-bets, UTG folds, Hero 4-bets, SB calls
River: (15.5 BB, 2 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, SB 3-bets, Hero calls
in light of "giving villains too much credit," i decided if he IS aggro, he can be bluffy. the 3bet pot makes me think over pairs are out on the flop, as well as any two overcards...duh. i cant raise to protect yet, because i cant force anyone to call two bets.
turn gives me yahtzee, so i turn on the jets. i assume AT/JJ+ arent going anywhere, and draws, too. i am kind of surprised to see the 3bet, but assume a better 9 or 9T is a bit unlikely, so i cap. (proper adjustment?)
river plan is to check/call a flush/straight card (mistake? too passive still?), and blast away at any safer cards. i feel i still should have capped river, but am still kind of glad i raised.
i feel this hand was played very close to perfectly. i may have missed one bb on the river, though? i think thats the only mistake? anything i missed?

Much better, but I probably cap the river as well. The only sensible hands we're behind here are AA or TT and at this level he's so likely to go off AK, AT, that I think a river cap is probably ok.
Often at this level, villian is only looking at his hand (I got two pair with AT, or I got TPTP with AK!) and not thinking about what yours might be so you can widen his raising/capping range a lot.

I think this looks good. I usually just call the river as well, but against maniacal players who suck at reading hands (which sounds like a good description of this player), capping is likely best.

thanks guys. hopefully, i have actually learned something here and wont revert to "my old ways."
i figured i should cap the river, but i just couldnt bring myself to it since he was going absolutely crazy in spite of my raises. i knew i was dead to about two hands, but i've also been on a super-cooler lately that probably affected my judgment there.
oh, villain had J6 in the previous hand and rivered me. which explains the super-cooler a bit. i'll wait a bit to tell you any results.

don't even let it enter your mind. Had you capped the turn you would have had 94% equity. let 'em suck out 6% of the time, you're making a ton of money on that play.

which is why i shouldnt hesitate to cap. but i guess it doenst matter. the second he 3bets me, he isnt folding any part of any range to a cap.

Yeah. If you think you're a favorite when called, you should always raise if you're capping, since your opponent can't reraise you.
