Some people will say call the flop checkraise the turn in the first hand. I don't agree in this case though, since you don't want the cheap diamond. I like how you played it. UTG is probably on a weak ace, but the button might be on the flush draw, so that diamond is kinda a crappy card for you.

Fold the second one preflop. A raise, and a threebet usually means aces kings or queens. Sometimes AK.

You got a lucky flop. With that kind of action in front of you, I check call the flop and check raise the turn. No one should think youre on 56 since you called two bets cold. AA, KK, or QQ should donate you some money.

Hand 1: I prefer to just bet out and hope to get raised in situations like this instead of going for the check/raise. Betting out gives you the ability to 3-bet the flop or check/raise the turn since somebody is almost definately going to have an ace and give you a raise.

Hand 2: Definite fold preflop vs a 3-bet. Against just one raise and 2 callers, you are fine calling the raise, but the 3-bet makes calling a definite -EV situation.

Hand 1- I ALWAYS fast play anything smaller than a flush with 6 players seeing the flop. If I'm in late position, I fast play the flush too. You are generally screwed if the board pairs again, the diamond hits, or even someone can hit their pocket tens, jacks, queens, or kings.

Hand 2- If you were in late position and had one more caller preflop, 56s may be worth 3 bets if YOU 3 bet it. You need multiway action, to disguise your hand, and 56s is one of the SCs that people can not easily catch the top end of a straight you may make. Plus SCs are almost never worth a raise in early position.

#1 I don' think you can really protect against the diamond draw here. Just ram your trips down their throat for value the'll call.

#2 fold preflop
