Here's a tough one I just had to decide...
You're in the BB and you've hit your straight on the river, but there hasn't been much action. There's two people behind you, but you're pretty sure they don't have much.
The small blind before your raises. Now theres two people behind you still to play, a raise might knock them both off, it might knock none of them off, it might knock one off, but a call should keep atleast one in.
Which do you pick?

How big is the pot? How horrible are the players behind you?
Smaller stakes, big pot and bad players remaining to act are all reasons to be more inclined to raise. I see too many players cold call with pairs in spots like this to smooth call nut-like hands on the river.
Also consider that the SB will almost always call the raise and sometimes 3-bet a worse hand, but you may or may not get any over-calls.

Raise. If you smooth call you might get one more call. If you raise you are likely to get that same bet from the original raiser. He may even reraise you or one of the guys behind you may cold call. I think raising here is the best option.

I raised, two behind me folded, SB called. I think it would have ended the same way pretty much either way.

Raise, you have the nuts, you want to put your opponents in a position where they make a mistake (ie, cold call your raise). Especially in low limit, especially with only 2 people behind.

We don't know if he has the nuts or not. He could have the ass end of it or maybe the board is paired. Any of those could influence what he should do but with the information we have I agree that raising in the best option.
