How do you guys play top pair w/good kicker in early position w/a straight draw on the board?
Check Raise?
Hero raises as UTG = AQ.
Flop comes Q87 offsuit.
#1: One caller
#2: Three Callers
#3: 5 callers
Hero?
Thanks

1 bet
2 bet
3 check, hoping for a late position bet that you can raise
With less than about 8 bets in the pot on the flop, you typically want to bet a strong hand. With more bets in the pot, you need to figure out the best way to play to face your opponents with the worst odds to continue. If you are in early position, this usually means going for the check raise. Draws like OESD and flush draws won't fold no matter what you do. You are trying to get the gut shots and bottom and middle pair draws to fold to increase your chances to win the pot.

1. bet
2. bet
3. bet. With so many people in the pot and a raise preflop, there is no way any decent draws are folding, so there is no point trying for the check raise.

The point is to get the indecent draws to fold.

1/ bet
2/ bet
3/ depend on the players in the pot.
a)If seemlike some maniac behind will surely bet then go for check-raise.
b) if table to passive then just bet out
