Ok, I've done research, and it seems like every expert has a different opinion on what pairs to call or R w/preflop as the UTG.
As UTG in a full ring (2/4) what pairs do you...
#1: fold?
#2: call?
#3: raise?

thanks

It depends. Table texture is HUGE here.

If it's a B&M limp, bet & call game; you're giving up way too much by folding. If it's an online pretty aggro game with a couple live ones, then you're just asking for someone to iso-raise you if you limp 22 UTG.

I agree with Fnord completely here. Back when I was playing .5/1 online and live vs my friends that weren't very good I found it profitable to limp pairs down to 22 UTG. Now that I am playing upwards of 5/10 online, I find that most tables have few enough calling stations and enough Tag/Lag players to make limping low pairs(maybe 22-66) not worth it UTG.

At 10/20 6max I was raising 22+ UTG -- something that a lot of people give me a lot of grief for. I agree that the real low pairs can be difficult to play OOP, particularly if you get threebet, but that really didn't happen much. It happened way more at 5/10 than at 10/20.

If I was in mid or late position with proper table selection, I was threebetting with 99+ or so, and limping behind with 99-.

Open raising 33 from MP is a no brainer for me.

Note that the more I think about it, the more I get convinced raising 22 UTG is a bad idea and isnt a whole lot different than raising 97 UTG. The only times I'm winning are when I improve or the other guy doesnt - in which case the cards don't matter.

Id have to run some filters.

It might be better to think of it as a long distance steal
