Now that I'm comfortable with all of the stud games, I'm finally moving to learn another big bet game. With so many of my outs dirty, there's no way I can overcall here, even with it being such a small bet, right? Or can I seek one of my clean outs an hope to get paid often enough on the river to make it +EV?

Looking at the math of it, a strong part of me is leaning toward a call now. I'm 6% to hit the nuts, with another 6% to hit the second nuts.

Factor out the extremely rare QTxx, and the relatively rare 86xx split, and figuring I'm 10% to win seems a fair assessment. At $0.75 to call for $5.25, I definitely think I have the implied odds to call here and then on the river get paid sufficiently to make it profitable.

Oh well...next time I'll check the odds more thoroughly. FWIW, the 4d did come as the river card, and I would have gotten paid (or possibly have split...jenny bet $4).

yeah no reason not to. it's a pretty harmless looking card given the board. the only way it's bad is if you decide to call a river bet when you hit a club straight which I'm sure you would not do. plus you may be in against a dry club draw & two pair and all your outs are good against hands that will probably check or make a super small bet again
