Edit -- This is a 1/2 LIMIT game
How did I play this hand post-flop? should I have tried to check-raise the flop? re-raise the turn (probably)? bet the river? In retrospect, he was probably on a flush draw, but he had previously been going to the river with middle or even middle pair and a decent kicker.

I'll give you full honesty and say you played the whole hand horribly.
Preflop - You're looking to raise to $4-5 atleast.
Flop - Bet ATLEAST double what you bet preflop, or go all-in. I cannot stress this enough. Unless you know your opponent well enough to bet less than your preflop bet to induce him to go all in and for you to call, you MUST bet harder.
Turn - Could have raised him all in.
River - Also could have raised all in.
The turn / river plays I suggested are risky though with your weak betting. Someone could have two pair because you let them draw! You got lucky this time, but it could be alot of pain for you in the future. Protect your monsters.

AllLiving-
This is a limit game, he cant bet that much. Ill take a stab, but Im not experienced at all on limit games.
Flop: bet or check/raise. Since your the agressor, I would bet out. But it looks like other might bet so maybe a check raise could be good.
Turn: I dont know what hes re-raising on, maybe 2-pair or trips. I would think a flush draw he would want to keep everyone in. I guess I would call not re-raise.
River: I would check. Now we know he doesnt have trips so I would put him on pair/flush draw (7's), jack pair w/ low kicker.. You would think he would re-raise flop and bet river w/ AJ, QQ, and KK. Call the turn with any strong draws... Maybe he could have 88, 99, 10/10 too.

Not bad.
The only think I do different is Bet/Call the river to avoid having it checked/through like that. Also, consider that the 5 pairing might have killed someone's two pair.
